Our Launch is Official... Welcome to the C(l)ubHouse!

Here we are on September 6th 2010, the official launch date that you have been waiting for (and we know you have been waiting). Chris and I have been working diligently on this site for several months now, trying to bring you the best possible options and alternative to the other bear sites. Welcome to BearCubHouse on behalf of both of us! Now let me explain a little about what we are doing here on this website.
We are the new social networking site for the Gay Bear Community. We have created a place where everyone can feel comfortable, and make friends with other bears and bear admirers around the world. There are plenty of things to do on our website, we will be having several sections to visit and comment on the various articles. You can see what the bears are cooking and get your grub on in our cooking/recipe section. You can catch some good belly laughs in our funny section. Get your tech fix and hear about other geeky news in our tech/geeky section. You can buy your bear apparel and accessories in the store. There will be lots of news, and many other articles about the things that interest YOU! You can connect with other bears and cubs and such around the world. You can browse events in your area and eventually around the world. You could look for the groups/clubs around the country. You can check out the “Woof of the Week” where we have galleries of woofy guys every week (not nude). You can form friendships with like-minded men, or just learn more about the gay Bear community. You can find men for dating or other kinds of hook-ups… >_>. Whatever you want to do, permitting you are of legal age to do such things of course.
This is our effort to help bring the community further together, because we think that there should be a brotherhood among bears. We do not turn anyone away because of how they look, all are welcome here. There is, of course, a more adult side to the site because, after all, it is about sexuality. We have devised a very secure way to keep those who are not of age from viewing this side of the site. We are very thorough about our security and very responsible kinds of guys who like to cover all bases. With that being said, we allow younger guys who might be curious about their sexuality to explore the site, but they will only barely be aware that there even is an adult side to the site. We do this so that they can learn more about the Bear community and have a sense of belonging if they feel lost and confused like I did before I found out about bears. We wanted to create a more facebook-like environment specifically aimed at the bear community and with extra features, minus the unnecessary ones. A website not solely based upon sex and hook-ups, but more about forming friendships and being social with other men in the community around the world or in your neighborhood.
So one of our goals is trying to provide a safe place for young men who are curious about their sexuality to find answers and be able to meet like-minded men to know that they are not alone. I remember when I was a teenager, I knew that I liked guys, big guys in particular, and had a thing about hairy chests, but I had nobody to talk to about this. The other gay guys in my school were twinks who liked other twinks, and that just wasn’t me. I felt very alone and no one seemed to understand how I felt, until I stumbled upon the bear community, and I found my home. I finally felt like I belonged to a group, when I found out that other guys liked the same things that I did. We don’t want to exclude anyone that wants to join, and we do not judge based on appearances. I was rejected from another site before and personally thought it was wrong to be judged by a picture and a few lines about who I am and what I am looking for. I was just trying to make some friends, but was shut out of a part of the bear community because of how I looked apparently. We believe that you are what you feel you are, if you look more like the physical description of an otter, but consider yourself a bear or cub, then you are a bear or cub to us too. We believe that it is what’s inside each of you, personality wise (I know what you were thinking, dirty man), that matters most.
Our commitment to you is that we will strive to provide the best customer service and support to all who join. Obviously we can’t cater to everyone’s wishes all of the time, but we will try our best to make sure you are satisfied. We will continue to innovate and implement new features and ways for you to express yourselves on BearCubHouse. We love our community and we can’t be successful without you guys. So come on into the BearC(l)ubHouse and get to know some people, if you like it, bring your friends. Let them bring their friends, soon enough everyone in the bear community will be friends!
